CakeSpy Shop + Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store is an art gallery and boutique focusing on independent handmade art, craft and design. Located in the Capitol Hill district of Seattle, Washington.

Our gallery section features monthly solo or group shows focusing on emerging artists who have a pop sensibility. We specialize in showcasing amazing and affordable artwork to a market that is just starting to collect work. We feature payment plans to accommodate those who wish to purchase artwork in installments rather than all at once.

Our boutique section features items which are handmade and often one-of-a-kind, or produced as limited edition runs. We showcase work that is innovative and well-crafted. Our goal is to support a network of artists and provide an opportunity for customers to purchase pieces that are unique and exclusive!

History

Bluebottle Art Gallery was founded in December of 2002 by husband and wife duo Andrea and Matthew Porter to highlight Matthew's now infamous monkey world series paintings and products. Bluebottle built a reputation for being at the forefront of the DIY indie art, craft and design movement. In 2010 Andrea and Matthew sold Bluebottle and moved full time to focusing on building the Matthew Porter Art line; the gallery was purchased by Jessie Oleson, founder of CakeSpy.com.

Since taking over the gallery in April 2010, the two businesses have merged to form CakeSpy Shop + Bluebottle Art Gallery. What does this mean? Well, the shop remains dedicated to showcasing local and indie art, but it's gotten an extra dose of sweetness with CakeSpy products and an infusion of even more sweet new art.
