Ardor/Armor is a collection of unique silkscreened and drawn images on both found materials and handmade paper. The prints in this series are inspired by defense mechanisms and social quirks shared by both human and animal nature. By wearing animal masks, many of Caitlin Wheeler's subjects reflect a cognate species, while also implying a desire to hide, perform, or transform their respective identities. Her other works are likewise inspired by vulnerability, emotional transparency, and social reflection.

An emerging visual artist and printmaker from Baltimore, Maryland, Wheeler received her BFA in Printmaking from the University of Delaware in 2007. In the same year, she began selling work with Bluebottle Art Gallery.

Recently, she completed a year-long studio internship at Women's Studio Workshop, an artist residency in the Catskill Region of New York State. In the past year, between long hours spent in the studio, she has actively shown work along the east coast. Most notably, her piece "Nosedive" was exhibited in the New Prints Silkscreen Exhibition at the International Print Center of New York (IPCNY) in Chelsea. As of this fall, Caitlin Wheeler is headed south to live and continue making art on the wooded edge of Knoxville, Tennessee.
